Sr Telecomms Engineer
Job Purpose
The senior telecommunication engineer supports the voice infrastructure over multiple platforms. Responsibilities include installation, administration and maintenance of the telecommunications equipment. Develop and document standards for the telecommunication system. Provide technical advice and guidance to junior engineers on voice communications and the processes involved in systems support.

Ensures the highest levels of telecommunication security and protection from disaster to ensure business continuity of telecommunications systems.

Analyze the needs of the organization to determine the best use of resources. Conduct Cost and traffic analysis to determine the best use of resources. Monitor and Analyze System Traffic and prepare reports.

Perform maintenance, installations, upgrades, and other technical duties related to the operation of the telecommunications systems.

Serves as a liaison with internal departments, vendors and other third-party providers. Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness. Resolves issues other tiers of support have escalated/transferred. Communicate courteously and effectively with users as needed.

Stays knowledgeable of emerging trends and industry practices. Ensures compliance with telecommunications engineering standards and guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Proven experience with legacy and VOIP telecommunications systems
- Proficiency using office productivity software such as MS Office, Teams etc.
- Technical understanding of network as applied to VoIP, SIP, Internet standards, and protocols.
- Demonstrated understanding of telephony and all that it encompasses in relation to trunks, endpoints and any associated adjuncts.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred
- Cisco CUCM, CUC, UCCX, Fortinet Fortivoice, Avaya IP Office, Legacy Key Systems
