What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical-Surgical Nurse Educator position at Southeastern Health?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Medical-Surgical Nurse Educator supports the Quadruple Aim goals of UNC Health Southeastern by working collaboratively with staff on the bed tower units and Resource Pool. The Medical-Surgical Educator identifies educational needs, plans and implements programs using a variety of teaching / learning strategies. These educational offerings range from patient population-specific curricula to one-to-one teaching sessions with individual nursing staff members. In all endeavors, the educator promotes evidence-based practice by serving as a change-agent, teacher, mentor, and coach.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years recent clinical nursing experience and / or at least 5 years of experience in specialty area
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated supervisory / leadership skills
