What are the responsibilities and job description for the WOUND CARE NURSE position at Southeastern Health?
Consults with the medical and nursing staff in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for pressure ulcers, ostomies, complex draining wounds, fistulas, skin problems and specialty beds related to fecal and urinary incontinence. Serves as a consultant to outpatients, Home Health and Long-Term Facilities. Provides orientation and ongoing education to nursing staff. Provides patient care in accordance with prescribed, delegated medical regimen and hospital policies, and within the scope of the NC Nurse Practice Act.
- EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE :
- BCLS certification; recertification required every 2 years.
- Successful completion of a WOCN-accredited Enterstomal Therapy Nursing Education Program (ETNEP), and Board certified in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing.
- Requires 3 years nursing experience.
- Preferred :
Minimum Required :
Graduate of an approved BSN program, with a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
MSN with the above credentials.
