Monday thru Thursday 8 am to 5 pm
The person in this position:
Customer Service
1. Provides high quality customer service in person and over the phone
2. Provides information regarding Southeastern Idaho Public Health (SIPH) programs to clients, co-workers, and community partners
3. Operates a variety of computer programs, including our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
4. Assists individuals in securing services, permits and licenses
5. Refers clients to the appropriate program or individual to meet their needs
6. Explains eligibility or compliance requirements and services/programs available
7. Collaborates with clients to problem solve issues and find meaningful solutions
8. Advocates for SIPH and client needs
9. Provides support and team coverage to peers
10. Promotes a respectful and collaborative workplace
WIC Clinical Assistant
1. Assess the nutritional status of participants by collecting, recording, and comparing to standards the following to determine nutritional risk criteria:
o Anthropometric Measurements
o Biochemical Measurements
o Dietary Data
o Health Data
2. Promote and support breastfeeding as the biological norm for feeding infants. Continually learn about breastfeeding.
3. Learn about and communicate normal infant cues and behaviors.
4. Create nutrition care plans for participants based upon findings by:
o Identifying nutrition or health risks
o Referring participants to community and agency services that might help resolve risks
o Tailoring WIC food packages with participant input and issue food package according to established policies and procedures.
o Selecting relevant nutrition education messages for participants.
5. Determine participant eligibility according to WIC policy
Office Coordination
1. Coordinates coverage of office with peers
2. Collaborates with peers to identify system problems and find meaningful solutions
3. Identifies and implements quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and client experience
4. Plays an active role in HIPAA implementation, compliance, and processes
5. Performs office support functions such as forms, and routine letters; verifying completeness of applications and forms; maintaining record systems
6. Prepares deposit and appropriate paperwork
7. Collaborates with peers to ensure lead responsibilities are completed
8. Completes weekly office cleaning
Other
1. Follows department and organizational values
2. Provides team coverage for other duties, as needed
3. Assists Public Health Preparedness activities, exercises and events
4. Other duties, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- This position requires the ability to conduct customer focused interviews. This MQ is typically met with six months of customer service experience.
- This position requires experience accessing data using computerized systems. This MQ is typically met with six months of experience entering and accessing data in an electronic system.
- This position requires experience interpreting and explain regulations, policies, and procedures. This MQ is typically met with one year work experience interpreting and explaining regulations, laws, policies, procedures, and/or program knowledge.
