Job Description
- Engage in recruitment activities (as applicable).
- Complete an initial and annual family centered assessment with each family.
- Develop, monitor, and review goals with each family.
- Plan, provide, and document personal visits focused on parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting and family well-being.
- Use the Foundational Curriculum to share research-based information with families.
- Provided group connections to give families an opportunity to build social connections with each other, engage in parent-child interaction activities, and increase their knowledge of ways to support children’s development.
- Complete at least an initial and annual developmental screening and health review for each enrolled child (as applicable). Screenings will be perform on a case to case basis.
- Connect families to resources that help them reach their goals and address their needs. Help parents and children transition to other services as needed, to preschool, or to kindergarten.
- Maintain and submit in a timely way all required family and program documentation.
- Organize and inventory supplies, materials, etc.
- Participate in at least two hours of reflective supervision monthly and at least two hours of staff meetings monthly.
- Obtain competency-based professional development and renew parent educator certification annually.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires good knowledge of public health education principles and practices to include needs assessment, information dissemination and community organization relating to common health problems. This MQ is typically met with a bachelor's degree in health education, health science, public health, or a related field.
This position requires good knowledge of basic disease etiologies and preventive strategies. This MQ is typically gained by approximately 9 credits of college coursework in health and/or science, such as microbiology, epidemiology, or human physiology; -OR- 12 months of relevant work experience.
This position requires good knowledge of survey methods and basic statistics used to collect and interpret data. This MQ is typically gained by approximately six creditts of college coursework in a related field; -OR- six months of work experience that included the use of statistics and data analysis.
Specialty Qualification:
This position requires the ability to work with children and families. This skill is typically gained through a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, or another related field -OR- with 24 months of experience working with children and families.
