Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Instructor of Kinesiology available August 2025. Instructional responsibilities will support the undergraduate degree in Kinesiology.Anticipated courses of instruction may include instructional responsibilities that primarily support the undergraduate kinesiology program and may include introduction to kinesiology, exercise testing and prescription, design of strength and conditioning programs, anatomical kinesiology, sport & exercise psychology, biomechanics, motor learning, and activity courses. Other duties include advising undergraduate students, supervising internships, providing service to the department, university, and community; and engaging in professional and scholarly activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Kinesiology or related discipline by hire date
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Work experience in the Kinesiology and/or fitness field, teaching experience at the university level, and professional certification (e.g., ACSM, CSCS, USAW)
- Successful college teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Strong commitment to teaching, research, and service initiatives set forth by the department, college, and university
- Commitment to advising and mentoring students
