In this impactful role, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of others by delivering high-quality Independent Living (IL) services that align with the core philosophy of empowerment, choice, and self-determination. You’ll work closely with individuals, helping them navigate barriers and achieve their goals. You will also assist with creating and building community relationships, organizing workshops, classes, or activities, and inspiring the independence of all program participants, with a focus on providing CDCS support planning, social security applications and appeals, and independent living skills assessment services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Goal-Oriented Support: Collaborate with individuals to develop personalized goal plans that reflect their unique needs and aspirations and deliver IL services designed to achieve those goals.
- Solution-Focused Assistance: Research, explore, and assess various options to address complex challenges, offering individuals informed and actionable solutions.
- In-Depth Guidance: Provide comprehensive support to consumers, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to overcome barriers and achieve greater independence.
- Advocacy and Empowerment: Foster an environment that encourages choice, self-advocacy, and skill-building, empowering consumers to take control of their lives and navigate challenges effectively.
Ideal Candidate:
- Passionate about the Independent Living philosophy and committed to supporting individuals in achieving their personal goals.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively to find practical solutions.
- Empathetic, patient, and a great communicator who can provide clear, actionable guidance to individuals facing complex barriers.
- Knowledgeable about community resources, support systems, and services available to individuals with disabilities.
