OVERALL DESCRIPTION
Under the general direction of the Traffic Dispatcher and Traffic Monitor, performs traffic checks, disseminates information to Traffic Checkers, and provides direction and supervision in the absense of a Traffic Monitor.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts point / corner checks, ride checks (on / off; origin / destination) for service and running time.
- Observes and notes conditions that would affect the validity and interpretation of the checks.
- Leads in the distribution of brouchures and survey information cards.
- Provides, when necessary, customer information.
- Interprets daily Traffic Dispatcher instructions for prevailing field conditions.
- Responsible for the transportation and distribution of stop watches and electronic data collection devices.
- Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public, self and / or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.
