What are the responsibilities and job description for the COURIER position at Southeastern Regional Medical Center?
POSITION SUMMARY : Responsible for the pick-up, transportation, and delivery of supplies, mail, deposits, and linen to off site locations using hospital-owned vehicles. Assists with all aspects of Shipping and Receiving functions daily, as necessary.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE :
Minimum Required: Ability to read and follow written instructions, to include SDS sheets, policies, and procedures. On-the-job training in necessary skills will be provided. Capable of performing routine automotive maintenance tasks. Valid NC Driver ' s License. High school diploma.
Preferred: Training and experience driving large transport vehicles.
ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS : Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply population-specific principles of communication during interaction with others. Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently. Data entry to perform required educational in-services and training on the organization's web-based system. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Operation of transport trucks.
