What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant School Nurse position at Southeastern Regional?
DESCRIPTION:
To provide nursing and other health related services for the school population as defined by the school district.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implements a comprehensive school health program consistent with the Massachusetts guidelines, regulations and statutes governing nursing and school health, and local school district policy.
Collaborates with other professionals, team members, and community providers to identify students with health-related needs.
Using the nursing process, collaborates with the parent/guardian and student, where appropriate, to develop and implement an individualized health care plan for the student.
Assists students, families, and groups to achieve optimal levels of wellness through health education and promotion.
All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be eligible for and subsequently maintain certification in School Nursing according to requirements developed by the
Massachusetts Department of Education.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
