We’re Growing! Southeastern Timber Products (STP) is undergoing a major capital expansion, and we are looking for a proven leader to help launch and lead our team with a brand-new state of the art Lumber facility in Ackerman, MS.
Southeastern Timber Products started in 1972 and has been in business for over 50 years. We’re growing and now is an exciting time to join us!
The Plant Manager is responsible for exceeding targets in safety, production, quality, cost control, and employee engagement. They keep employees safe, operations running reliably and engage their teams ! If you’re a people leader at heart , with superior leadership skills and possess a comprehensive knowledge of wood products manufacturing operations, safety, and labor relations, and want to make an impact, take a look at what we offer!
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications :
- A proven track record in safety performance and leadership
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Innovative thinking aimed at continuous improvements
- A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience at a superintendent level or higher
- Expertise in planning, goal setting, and project management
- Experience in hiring and developing diverse teams
- Expertise in developing annual business plans and 5-year strategic capital plans
- Post-secondary education in forestry, business, engineering, or related field
- Superior computer application skills
- Ability to deliver superior margins throughout the business cycles

With approximately 1,700 people, the town of Ackerman was chartered on February 16, 1884 and named for the president of the railroad, William K. Ackerman.
