JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Coach for Men's Basketball will be responsible for coaching and mentoring the team under the guidance of the Head Coach in a manner that is consistent with goals of the program and the policies and procedures of Southeastern University. The Assistant Coach will have recruiting responsibilities, be able to work collaboratively with the head coach, and perform other duties as assigned.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Head Coach - Men's Basketball
Supervisory Responsibility: May be responsible to oversee student worker's, graduate assistants
Indirect Supervisory Responsibility: N/A
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but is not limited to the following:
1. Attend all practices, games, and recruiting functions
2. Plan and execute daily meeting and practice activities
3. Actively recruit prospective student-athletes to SEU
4. Support the Christian mission of SEU
5. Adhere to all applicable NAIA, Sun Conference, and institutional rules
ADDITIONAL/NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES

EXPERIENCE
Required:
A minimum of 1-3 years (or the equivalent) as a collegiate coach
Successful background as a high school coach
Preferred:
3 years of coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level (but not required)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

1. Advanced knowledge of the sport
2. Ability to verbally instruct in both a classroom and on-field/court setting

TRAINING
All new hires and employees transferring into a new position will have a 90-day probationary period within which to learn the functions of the job and to be evaluated. Following the probationary period, the employee can transition to regular status, have the probationary period extended in order to receive more training, or employment can be terminated. SCREENING
All full-time positions at SEU are deemed security-sensitive and require background checks. Employees required to drive their own personal vehicle, a rental car or an SEU vehicle in performance of their duties must pass an MVR records check and meet the requirements of the Universitys insurance carrier in order to meet the requirements of the position.
