JOB SUMMARY
The Academic Services Coordinator oversees the daily operations of ADA Services and the Testing Center. This role ensures that students receive timely and appropriate accommodations, that testing services are administered securely and efficiently, and assists the Director with ensuring all processes comply with ADA, Section 504, and institutional policies. The Coordinator also oversees scheduling, proctoring, and communications with faculty to ensure seamless support for students with disabilities and those requiring testing services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but is not limited to the following:
- Guide students through the accommodation request process, including student intake, documentation review, and accommodation implementation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student accommodations in compliance with ADA, Section 504, and FERPA regulations.
- Prepare and distribute Letters of Accommodation (LOAs) to faculty and provide guidance on accommodation implementation.
- Coordinate final accommodation meetings between students and the Director of Academic Services.
- Oversee the tracking and scheduling of accommodated exams, ensuring students receive their approved testing accommodations.
- Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and staff, ensuring strong communication and support regarding disability services.
- Stay current with ADA and accessibility laws, attending training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and best practices.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Testing Center, ensuring a quiet, secure, and organized testing environment.
- Supervise the scheduling and administration of accommodated exams, CLEP exams, and other standardized tests.
- Ensure student workers and test proctors maintain compliance with testing policies.
- Ensure adherence to test security protocols, including monitoring students, tracking time limits, and preventing academic dishonesty.
- Collect, organize, scan, and return completed exams to faculty.
- Maintain testing software, records, and reporting systems to ensure accurate documentation of test administration.
- Develop proctoring schedules and ensure appropriate staffing levels for daily operations and final exams.
- Conduct final exam week preparation, including scheduling, faculty communication, and proctoring assignments.
- Assist Director with ensuring compliance with and updates to departmental policies, manuals, and training materials related to accessibility and testing services.
- Assist with coverage in the Academic Center for Enrichment (ACE) as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
ADDITIONAL/NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
All remaining duties are considered "nonessential" within the context of the ADA, which means that the function could be reassigned to another employee in order to allow a disabled individual to hold the position. Alternatively, the manager could try to provide a reasonable accommodation so that the disabled individual could perform the function.

EDUCATION
Required Education:
High School with some college in any discipline
Preferred Education:
Coursework or bachelor's degree in education, ESE, higher education, social work or other related field.

EXPERIENCE
Required:
One year of administrative experience
Preferred:
At least one year of experience in teaching, ADA, testing/proctoring or other similar experience is preferred.

The successful candidate must be able to:
- relate to and work with students individually and in small groups, exercise good judgment, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

TRAINING
All new hires and employees transferring into a new position will have a 90-day probationary period within which to learn the functions of the job and to be evaluated. Following the probationary period, the employee can transition to regular status, have the probationary period extended in order to receive more training, or employment can be terminated. SCREENING
All full-time positions at SEU are deemed security-sensitive and require background checks. Employees required to drive their own personal vehicle, a rental car or an SEU vehicle in performance of their duties must pass an MVR records check and meet the requirements of the University’s insurance carrier in order to meet the requirements of the position.
