Job Summary
As a Cleanroom Compliance Technician, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of sterile compounding practices. You will work closely with pharmacists and compounding staff to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will directly impact the safety and well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Monitoring:
- Conduct daily monitoring of cleanroom humidity, temperature, and pressure data.
- Report condition excursions to the designated person or supervising pharmacist for documentation and/or corrective action.
Facility Compliance:
- Perform weekly surface sampling with TSA and MEA media, ensuring all related documentation is completed.
- Conduct monthly viable air sampling with TSA and MEA media, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Track sample incubation and review sampling results with the designated person.
- Implement remedial cleaning procedures for samples exceeding action level limits.
- Execute routine and terminal cleaning procedures in compliance with USP Chapter 797.
- Track and schedule cleanroom and hood certifications.
- Maintain an on-hand inventory of critical supplies, including sampling media plates and replacement HEPA filters.
Staff Compliance:
- Support the training of new sterile compounding staff members.
- Conduct quarterly testing of all compounding staff members using gloved fingertip testing and media-fill procedures.
- Oversee documentation requirements are met in compliance with USP Chapter 797
Equipment and Supplies:
Track and coordinate routine maintenance activities for:
- Hoods
- Refrigerators
- Incubators
- Repeater pumps
- Scales
- All other equipment supporting compounding activities
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of sterile compounding experience
- Valid pharmacy technician license and relevant certifications (e.g., PTCB, IV certification)
- Expert-level sterile technique
- Strong understanding of USP regulations and sterile compounding best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- High level of adaptability
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on compliance
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Preferred: Previous experience as a trainer
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, or via virtual meeting
- Ability to maintain focus in a typical office environment with moderate noise levels
- Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands and arms, such as typing.
