Minimum Qualifications:
- Hold an earned doctorate degree in accounting; or a doctoral degree in a related field with a master’s degree in accounting (i.e. MAcc or MSA)
- Active CPA, CMA, CIA, or CGMA licensure or certification
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in the for-profit sector in either corporate or public accounting
- Evidence of ability to work as part of an effective team as a leader or follower
- Evidence of strong interpersonal communication skills and desire to positively contribute to a collegial environment and organizational goals
- Commitment to teach assigned courses from a Biblical worldview
- Commitment to integrate Christian faith and biblical principles as reflected in Seventh-day Adventist beliefs teaching in personal conduct and interactions both in and out of the classroom
Duties:
- Cultivate an environment conducive to student spiritual growth, learning readiness, and effective advising (spiritual, academic, career).
- Prepare curriculum and teach undergraduate accounting courses that build foundational accounting knowledge, skills, and competencies applicable to all business majors
- Prepare curriculum and teach undergraduate accounting major emphasis courses that build advanced accounting knowledge, skills, and competencies and prepares students to confidently enter the accounting profession
- Facilitate learning experiences outside of the classroom that contribute to career readiness, industry networking, and placement for internships or full-time positions after graduation
- Prepare curriculum and teach one or more graduate level accounting course for the students in the MBA program
- Provide timely feedback to students (e.g. grading, recording keeping, email communication)
- Actively participate in departmental and university co-curricular activities including but not limited to committee membership and responsibilities, club sponsorships, and departmental functions throughout the academic year
- Positively contribute to scholarly and professional engagement in the department and across campus
- Other duties as assigned
