Job Description:
The School of Visual Art and Design seeks a full-time professor of animation to teach courses in character animation, storyboarding, and animation production, utilizing both traditional and digital animation techniques. Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess an MFA degree in Animation or related field and demonstrate exceptional animation skills, with 5 years of professional industry experience. Candidates should have expertise in motion and acting for character animation, with strong emphasis in storytelling, storyboarding, and traditional animation skills. Professional experience in narrative-driven animation projects is essential. Knowledge of current animation software, production pipelines, proficiency with rigs, as well as understanding of animation theory and history are required. The successful candidate will be committed to mentoring advisees, nurturing student learning both in and out of the classroom, and discipling students in Jesus Christ.
Special Requirements:
Must have an expressed commitment to Jesus Christ and the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and be an SDA church member in good and regular standing.
Typical Physical Demands:
Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, tablets, drawing equipment, calculators, telephone and other office equipment.
Working Conditions:
Essential tasks are performed under normal office/school conditions with little or no noticeable discomfort. Work area is well lighted and ventilated.

Job Duties:
- Prepare and deliver instructional materials to students in various animation and art foundation courses.
- Develop and maintain curriculum that emphasizes strong narrative development, movement principles, and production management skills.
- Perform duties associated with documenting student progress on a timely basis, including grading and required record keeping in accordance with university guidelines.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills in order to teach assigned courses in a well-prepared manner.
- Collaborate with other faculty in interdisciplinary projects and curriculum development
- Participate in co-curricular department and university activities including, but not limited to, committee membership, club sponsorships, and official department functions.
- Mentor and nurture students with a compassionate Christ-like spirit, for the purpose of supporting and encouraging them academically and spiritually.
- Appropriately integrate Christian faith and biblical principles as reflected in Seventh-day Adventist beliefs in course content and by personal interactions with students and colleagues.
