What are the responsibilities and job description for the Car Detailer/Washer position at Southern Auto Auction?
Southern Auto Auction has been in business since 1947 and has been growing and expanding ever since. What began as a one-lane auction has grown to a 20-lane facility with a state of the art body shop, service department and 4 reconditioning facilities. Auctions are held every Wednesday where approximately 3-5 thousand vehicles run through our auction lanes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the detailing process meets the quality standards set by Southern Auto Auction exceeds client satisfaction.
- Always represent the company positively and professionally.
- Be an example of the company’s core values.
- Adhere to all company safety and detailing policies and procedures.
- No smoking or vaping is permitted near a client’s property.
- Work in an assembly tine style environment.
- Lan assignment can include exterior wash, de-trash of vehicles, interior vacuum and wipe down, detail, de-logo, and final inspection touch-up.
- Daily clean-up of the lane is also required at the end of the day.
- Equipment is to be maintained as needed.
- Complete all services according to the quality standards of SAA.
- Only used company-approved techniques, chemical, tools, and other equipment.
- Maintain allotted vehicle completion times whenever possible.
Additional Information
- A valid driver’s license is required to be maintained while working for SAA.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- You will be working in a covered area, however, you will still be exposed to weather conditions and need to be able to handle working in the head, cold, rain, and snow.
- You must be able to lift, bend, squat, and stand for long periods of time.
- You should be able to drive or learn how to drive manual transmission.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and experience car detailing.
Certificates, licenses, registrations
Valid Driver’s license & clean driving record.

While preforming the duties of this job the employee is required to continuously bend, squat, kneel, crouch, push, pull, stand, walk, drive, and use hand or power tools. The employee is frequently required to climb, bend, and crouch on and under vehicles.
