Position Summary:

SAFCO’s Compliance Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring that the production team maintains high quality work that aligns with legal requirements for automotive finance companies. They conduct thorough audits, provide coaching, and actively contribute to process improvement projects.
 
Additionally, the Compliance Analyst handles compliance communications with customers, assists with various investigative requests, creates and delivers effective compliance training, collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance departmental efficiencies. The position is expected to manage multiple projects independently while seeking team support when needed.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 
  • Maintain a call and document verification quality program utilizing "best practice" models through the monitoring of calls, reviewing documentation, verifying proper calculations based on SAFCO policies, then delivering regular and consistent feedback to the reviewed teams on their progress.
  • Analyze quality program results, then make recommendations for both training and policy initiatives.
  • Work with various department leadership to provide feedback, discuss improvement initiatives, or assist in ad hoc requests.
  • Monitor and approve compliance correspondence to customers, including Adverse Action, Right to Cure Letters, Notice of Intent to Sell Letters, Deficiency Letters, customer statements, debt validations, customer responses, and legal notices as required or requested.
  • Facilitate training programs for team members either in a group classroom setting, online through an e-learning session, or in a one-to-one format.
  • Organize and communicate compliance courses to meet the needs of team members and demands of the Company.
  • Receive and draft responses for direct and indirect complaints, including credit disputes.
  • Review, approve, and code various compliance communications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Written Communication – Intermediate ability to write correspondence or memos.
  • Verbal Communication – Intermediate ability to speak to individuals and groups, facilitate instruction, and respond to questions.
  • Project Management – Position works as part of a team that receives direction from Compliance Manger.
  • Computer Skills – Intermediate ability to utilize MS Office software.
  • Language Skills – Bilingual ability preferred but not required.

  • Job Knowledge – Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework relevant to the financial services industry and SAFCO. Remain informed about updates and modifications in regulations and internal policies, and effectively apply this knowledge to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

  • Level of Persuasion and/or Influencing of Others – The position requires interaction with team members across the company.
  • Mental Effort – The position requires the ability to be detailed and focused in all job duties
  • Level of Independent Judgment or Discretion – Receives direction from the Compliance Manager, and their decisions are subject to review
 

Education/Experience

Associate’s degree and 1 to 3 years experience
Any equivalent combination or experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
