Southern Auto Group will be hiring a Rental Agent/Service Coordinator for our Newport News locations! This position requires you to have outstanding verbal and written communication, be open to moving around the property, and be as helpful as possible to co-workers and customers throughout your workday! Whether it be walking to retrieve a rental vehicle for a customer, or making sure that our rental vehicles are cleaned out and have been returned in working order, YOU will be at the forefront of our Rental Department!!! You will also work between each of our locations in Newport News….which means you will be moving around and making things happen on a daily basis!
The ideal candidate for this position has proven sales experience, a confident personality, strong customer service skills, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, staff, and management. Fluent English speaking and writing skills, good time management skills, an outgoing personality, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.
REQUIREMENTS
- Work as Rental Agent/Service Coordinator with MULTIPLE Southern Auto locations in Newport News
- Assist Service Advisor with assigning Rental vehicles to customers as needed
- Walk to retrieve the appropriate Rental vehicle as assigned
- Inspect Rental vehicle for scratches/damages and notate paperwork appropriately
- Log correct keys for correct vehicles in an organized manner
- Maintain paperwork and forms for all Rental transactions
- Ensure Rental vehicle interior has been adequately cleaned prior to customer taking possession
- Inspect Rental vehicle for any scratches/damages upon return and document any issues seen
- Work with Service Advisor's and additional staff on any additional needs as requested
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required; some post-high school education or training preferred
- One year of experience handling money in a retail environment
- Point-of-sale (cash register) and credit/debit card processing skills
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent telephone skills
- Strong computer and internet skills
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance
- An impressive work ethic
