Job Description: Elementary School Tutor (Retired Teachers Preferred)**

**Position Summary:**

The elementary school tutor provides personalized academic support to students in grades K-5, reinforcing classroom instruction and helping students achieve their full potential. Retired teachers are highly preferred due to their extensive experience and proven ability to engage young learners. The tutor works closely with students, parents, and teachers to identify academic challenges and implement effective strategies to foster learning and confidence.

**Key Responsibilities:**

*Student Support and Instruction:**

• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs.
• Assist students with homework, projects, and test preparation.
• Reinforce concepts taught in the classroom and introduce new skills where needed.
• Develop and use engaging, age-appropriate materials to enhance learning.

**Assessment and Progress Monitoring:**

• Assess students' strengths and areas for improvement to create personalized learning plans.
• Monitor student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies as necessary.
• Provide feedback to parents, teachers, and school staff on student performance and growth.

**Collaboration:**

• Work with classroom teachers to align tutoring sessions with the school curriculum.
• Communicate with parents/guardians to discuss goals, progress, and areas of focus.

**Encouragement and Mentorship:**

• Build positive relationships with students to encourage a love of learning.
• Help students develop effective study habits and organizational skills.
• Act as a mentor, offering emotional support and motivation.

**Qualifications:**

• Bachelors degree in Education or a related field (Masters preferred).
• Teaching certification (retired teachers preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching elementary school students.
• Strong knowledge of elementary-level subjects, including reading, math, science, and social studies.
