The Southern Boone County R-1 School District is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher to join our team. The Kindergarten Teacher will be responsible for creating a positive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. This role involves teaching foundational academic skills, fostering emotional and social development, and ensuring that each child’s unique needs are met in an inclusive and supportive classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that support the growth of literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe classroom environment where children feel valued and confident to learn.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and tools to engage children in active learning and creative exploration.
- Monitor and assess children’s academic progress and provide personalized support where needed.
- Encourage positive behaviors, including cooperation, respect, and self-regulation.
- Manage classroom routines, such as daily schedules, breaks, and transitions, in an organized manner.

- Maintain student records, including attendance, academic progress, and behavioral notes, in accordance with school policies.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Certification (Birth-3rd Grade).
- Previous teaching experience in a kindergarten or early childhood setting is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
