Sales Associate

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Seasonal Retail Sales Associate to join our team from mid-March through the end of November (with a possible break in July/August). This part-time position primarily focuses on assisting customers with plant purchases, providing native plant knowledge, and managing transactions using Square on an iPad. The role offers potential for additional hours or a long-term position based on performance and business needs.

This position is completely outdoors with no air conditioning and limited cover from the elements. Applicants should be comfortable working in heat, cold, wind, humidity, and rain as necessary.

Schedule & Pay:

• Saturdays: 10 AM – 4 PM

• Sundays: 11 AM – 4 PM

• Pay: $17.25 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist customers with plant selection, providing information on native plants and their care.

• Process sales transactions using Square (iPad, phone apps).

• Maintain retail displays, restock plants, and ensure the sales area is clean and organized.

• Answer customer inquiries about plant availability and suitability for different landscapes.

• Handle basic inventory management and retail operations.

• Assist with plant care tasks, including weeding, watering, and potting up seedlings.

• Support seasonal promotions and social media features by highlighting plants of interest.

• Perform other duties as needed to support retail operations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Native plant knowledge preferred or a willingness to learn.

• Comfortable using technology (Square, iPad, phone apps).

• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.

• Ability to work independently and manage retail operations during open hours.

• Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
