KABC-TV, the ABC Owned local TV, digital, and social media source for news and information in the Los Angeles area, has an immediate opening for an Assignment Editor. We’re seeking an energetic and aggressive person who is detail-oriented and has the ability to develop and vet content for all platforms. Experience using social media listening tools is a must. Candidates should also be multi-taskers who can make decisions quickly and work collaboratively under extreme deadline pressure.
Previous desk experience is strongly preferred, including experience coordinating the movements of reporters and photographers. Already having sources in the community is a major plus. Willingness to work various shifts is a must. A college degree, preferably in journalism, is required. An understanding of the diverse communities KABC serves in Southern California is essential.
