Become a Management Data Analysis Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be responsible for handling the Advanced Analytics portfolio in the Digital & Process Transformation department in IT, with direct responsibility for analytics project implementation, value creation, reporting, and business outcomes.
You will work with the technology organization and business end-users to understand data and analytics needs and develop technical requirements. You'll make decisions daily to support a team of data scientists and data engineers in solving complex problems across the entire company. You will be accountable for coordinating with IT and OU partners, handling vendor performance, adjusting financial forecasts, and developing resolution plans for risks/issues. You will be instrumental in incorporating analytics solutions into business processes, promoting citizen development in reporting / automation, and facilitating process improvement. You will use data visualization programs, tools and techniques to generate dashboards, reports and presentations that aid in data storytelling, understanding and interpretation of trends and patterns of business importance. Additionally, you will also be supporting the creation of long-term strategic roadmaps to ensure technology investments deliver positive business value and are directly associated with OU goals.
You will also work closely with the Principal Manager and Senior Manager in leading Advanced Analytics Center of Excellence, partnering with OU data science teams to develop analytics projects repository, adopting analytics model risk assessment and documentation standard, promoting technical tools and platforms, and facilitating training and forums.

Responsibilities
- Participates in the design, development and maintenance of our business intelligence infrastructure, enhancing our analytics ecosystem to support key decision-making processes
- Partners with different business units to understand their data needs, driving the implementation of data solutions that meet strategic objectives
- Designs advanced predictive models using statistical and data mining methods to create scalable solutions for real business problems
- Identifies and prototypes industry best practices for emerging analytical tools
- Conducts detailed data analysis on complex data used across businesses to evaluate performance and to synthesize findings into key insights for partner team's decision making
- Builds and executes tools to monitor and report on data quality
- Drives the delivery of complex analytics projects in terms of the design, development, project management and deployment with related functions
- Delivers the assessment of new solutions, features and processes to inform whether to double down, pivot, or eliminate the feature or process
- Builds well-managed data solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable self-service frameworks for data consumers
- Maintains and sustains positives relationship with other data and analytics-focused teams to leverage ongoing initiatives and capabilities, or hand-over data models developed during programs
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience working with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Power Apps, SAS or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
5 years of experience working in the electric utility industry
3 years of experience in Power BI or other visualization & reporting tools
3 years of experience in in Business Process Mapping and Design, including CaseWise, Visio, Signavio, etc.
Experience in citizen development using PowerApp, PowerAutomate, UiPath or other tools
Experience in Information Governance and document management systems
3 or more years of experience in managing suppliers, contracts, and project metrics
3 or more years of experience in managing portfolio and handling payments
3 or more years of experience in managing medium scale projects or cross-functional teams and ensuring quality outcomes.
Additional Information
This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
