Become a(n) Safety Programs Senior Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll manage the ongoing development and maturation of safety programs, such as Safety and Energy Based Observations, ensuring SCE and our contractor partners are working to eliminate serious injuries and fatalities. You will analyze and report the status of corporate goals related to these programs. You will share communications, and help develop, implement, and monitor safety programs, standards, procedures, and processes to protect the health and safety of our employees and contract partners. Responsibilities

  • Provides input to safety policy development and implements safety policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations
  • Creates safety training programs for employees to ensure a safe working environment and works with leaders to ensure compliance with regulations and alignment with company expectations
  • Collaborates with leaders, staff, and contractors at all levels to implement effective solutions, overseeing the ongoing cycle of risk management efforts
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of current and emerging legislation, regulations and trends related to EHS
  • Provides oversight of incident investigations and corrective actions and ensures adequate corrective measures are implemented to prevent a recurrence
  • Leads, facilitates and implements project hazard analysis and risk assessment process across the company
  • Conducts training and presentations for EHS matters and accident prevention
  • Provides oversight and guidance related to hazard identification and risk mitigation
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of experience leading and developing health and safety compliance programs, activities and systems.
  • Posses a valid Class C Driver's License.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading and coordinating with technical experts in areas of safety culture, safety management systems, and strategy.
  • Influencing decisions on practices and policies to internal or external partners.
  • Analyzing unique and complex technical problems and delivers solutions where precedent may not exist.
  • Establishing project objectives, managing timelines, conducting risk analysis, developing milestones / deliverables, and budgets.
  • Experience approving tasks and schedules for successful project execution and driving problem-solving and issue resolution.
  • Determining and pursuing courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
  • Developing safety policies and procedures for the enterprise independently with strategic decisions recommended to senior management.
  • Acting independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.
  • Experience influencing company leadership on major initiatives and implementing strategic projects.
  • Presenting, facilitating, and providing recommendations at executive forums and developing materials and reports for company leadership.
  • Developing and facilitating training and presentations related to Safety projects and programs at an advanced level.
  • Providing guidance about work activities to colleagues.
  • Additional Information

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
