Description
Seeking a friendly, organized and motivated cross trained Medical Assistant for a fast-paced Urgent Care with Telemedicine.
*Hourly rate will be based on the level of experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
Excellent customer service skills are a must.
- Greet patients warmly and kindly on the phone and in person, make them feel welcome.
- Efficiently check patients in and out.
- Verify insurance and collect co-payments
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrate compassion to patients.
- Ability to calm upset patients and resolve their issues.
- Perform other assigned duties or those within the scope of an MA.
- Place patients in exam rooms. Take vital signs and performs all ancillary tests appropriate to skill level.
- Assist and set up providers during examination, treatment, and procedures
- Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered by the medical provider.
- Stock rooms with required supplies
- Keep equipment operating
- Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment
- Conduct business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, cooperative, sensitive, respectful and kind with dealing with patients, visitors, the public and all colleagues
- Operate and maintain all equipment in or pertaining to the clinical areas for daily use, safekeeping, and functionality
- Keep exam rooms between patients and other common areas clean.
Telemedicine
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients during telemedicine visits, providing a warm and welcoming environment.
- Assist in the setup and troubleshooting of telemedicine equipment to ensure smooth virtual consultations.
- Collect and document patient health information, including medical history, current medications, and chief complaints using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and follow-up visits for patients as needed, ensuring that patients understand telemedicine processes and protocols.
- Prepare for telehealth visits by reviewing patient files in advance and ensuring all necessary documentation and lab results are available.
- Assist healthcare providers during virtual consultations by managing patient records, taking notes, and documenting the visit in real-time.
- Provide education to patients about their care plans, medications, and follow-up instructions in a clear and concise manner.
Hourly Range: $16.50-$21
Schedule: Every other weekend, Saturday-Sunday, 9:45AM-3:15PM
