Job Summary
The Development Director will play a key role in advancing the mission of USTA Southern California by leading fundraising initiatives, managing donor relations, and securing grants and donations. The Director will be responsible for generating new revenue streams, maintaining donor relationships, and overseeing the lifecycle of grants to ensure sustained support for USTA SoCal’s programs. This is a dynamic, full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of tennis in Southern California. Key Responsibilities
- Fundraising Strategy Development : Design and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to achieve SCTA's annual revenue goals.
- Major Gift Solicitation : Secure 30-40 major gifts annually of $15,000 or more from individual donors, foundations, and corporations.
- Donor Stewardship : Cultivate, engage, and maintain long-term relationships with donors. Develop a robust donor stewardship program and maintain a reporting structure to ensure ongoing support.
- Grant Management : Lead all grant-related activities, including identifying funding opportunities, writing proposals, and managing grant applications through their entire lifecycle. Ensure timely reporting and compliance with grant requirements.
- Revenue Goals Achievement : Meet or exceed an annual revenue target of $500K-$750K in the first year, with the goal of achieving $3M in annual revenue by 2027.
- Fundraising Events : Plan, execute, and oversee annual fundraising events, including a Hall of Fame event and other key initiatives, ensuring they align with SCTA’s mission and financial goals.
- Collaboration : Work closely with the CEO, Board members, and external consultants to enhance fundraising efforts and engage key stakeholders.
- CRM Management : Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date donor database in CRM software, tracking donor interactions, contributions, and ensuring follow-up.
- Travel : The role requires travel within Southern California to attend donor meetings, events, and fundraising activities.
