ASCEND will be one of the most comprehensive Customer Service and Marketing transformation initiatives in our company’s history.JOB SUMMARY : The ASCEND program is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Report Developer to join our team. As a Report Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing a wide range of reports and dashboards to provide valuable insights to the organization. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to understand their reporting requirements and ensure the timely delivery of accurate and easily understandable reports.JOB REQUIREMENTS : (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)Job Experience and Education : 3 years of experience in report developmentExtensive experience in writing and optimizing SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and analysisDeep experience in designing, developing, and maintaining reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI or similar data visualization tools.Experience in documenting code to support effective maintenanceProficiency in data quality and validation techniques to ensure the integrity and reliability of report dataKnowledge of Oracle MDM and Oracle CC&B (preferred)Bachelor's degree in analytics, computer science, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Responsibilities : Develop, design, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using industry-leading reporting tools using Power BICollaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective report designsRetrieve and manipulate data from various sources, ensuring data quality and accuracyImplement and optimize data models to support reporting needsCreate and maintain documentation for reports, including data definitions, report specifications, and user guidesAlign with tightly established development and governance standardsPerform root cause analysis on data to identify trends, patterns, and insightsTroubleshoot report-related issues and provide timely resolutionsConduct thorough testing and analysis of developed reports to ensure accuracy, data integrity, and adherence to business requirements before final deliveryStay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in report development and data visualizationBuild effective relationships with peers, business partners and customersKnowledge, Skills & Abilities : Expertise in report development tools such as Power BI or TableauStrong understanding of data modeling concepts and database managementExcellent knowledge of SQL and data querying languagesExperience with data visualization best practices and design principlesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDetail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCollaboration skills to work effectively across teams and with stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to translate technical design documents into meaningful, engaging reports and dashboards to enhance management oversight, KPI and performance tracking, and decision making.Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and toolsKnowledge of energy industry-specific reporting requirements and metrics is a plusSouthern Company (NYSE : SO) is a leading energy provider serving 9 million residential and commercial customers across the Southeast and beyond through its family of companies.
