Job Summary
Maintains and repairs commercial facilities electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment.
Job Requirements
Vocational / Technical Education - Broad journeyman level experience in commercial electrical repairs and maintenance.
Electrical: able to inspect, troubleshoot and repair all types of electrical components, such as transformers, breakers, outlets, switches, lights, circuits, transfer switches, electric motors, low-voltage wiring, and other electrical building equipment.
Strong working knowledge of building equipment – electrical systems, control systems, commercial backup generators, switch gears, EV chargers, etc.
Technical knowledge and training across various trades, preferred.
Facilities maintenance and general construction knowledge.
Ability to work with various contractors / trades to complete work-related tasks or project assignments, as needed.
Familiar with building codes and associated guidelines such as: OSHA, ADA, NEC, NFPA, etc.
Other Skills
Able to read and interpret technical schematics, architectural and engineering drawings.
Use of common and specialized hand and power tools, including test equipment.
Able to work from ladders, lifts, etc.
Analytical, problem solver, multi-tasker.
Good oral, written, and digital communication (Email, Microsoft Outlook, etc.).
Good scheduler, planner, organizer, and self-starter.
Able to work independently or with a team to complete work assignments.
Safe work habits; always performing tasks with a safety-first mindset.
Other Requirements
Due to the nature of the work performed and the equipment utilized in this position, the successful candidate will need to:
Be able to lift at least 50 lbs
Physically capable of performing work assignments (indoor / outdoor) while utilizing, tools, equipment, ladders, lifts and required PPE in various climates and weather conditions.
Always utilize safe work practices.
Able operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle. ( CDL not required . Do not need CMV certification before employment.)
Successful completion of the CAST pre-employment test is a requirement. If you meet the screening criteria, you will be notified via email with registration instructions.
Must be available for callouts 24 hours 7 days a week for emergency response.
Responds to building emergencies.
Essential in disaster preparation and recovery.
