What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator position at Southern Components, Inc?
Summary:
The Forklift Driver is a person that is certified to drive a company forklift on our premises to move products from one location to the next to make workflow more efficient. This position reports directly to the Production Manager with overall reporting to the Plant Manager.
Primary Job Duties:
· Work closely with a supervisor to understand the daily schedule and plant needs
· Work closely with co-workers, team leads and management to ensure products are being moved efficiently and effectively
· Adhere to all safety regulations according to Southern Components and to the forklift certification requirements, to ensure the safety of everyone on the premises
· Adhere to all company policies according to the Employee Handbook and management
· Maintain any maintenance logs and checklists required by SCI and management to ensure the forklift being driven is in good working order
· Work closely with the HR Director and Company management to ensure certifications and training are up-to-date
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Possess a forklift certification or willing to be certified/recertified
· Verifiable forklift experience
· Ability to multitask and not be easily distracted
· Good time management
· Good attention to detail

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
