Southern Components, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Truss Designer to join our dynamic design team. The Truss Designer will play a pivotal role in the creation and refinement of truss designs, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy. This position requires close collaboration with the Design Manager and other team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Collaboration: Work daily with the Design Department Manager to receive and prioritize assignments. Engage with other designers, estimators, and key personnel to coordinate efforts and ensure cohesive project progression.
· Design Creation: Utilize the Alpine system to create detailed truss designs. Ensure designs are accurately integrated into the customer’s job folder and align with project specifications.
· Design Modification: Edit and update existing designs based on customer feedback and project requirements. Ensure all changes are meticulously documented and communicated.
· Project Preparation: Prepare comprehensive truss layouts and designs for estimating and production. Ensure all designs comply with project documents and specifications.
· Skill Development: Participate in team meetings and training sessions to share knowledge and learn new design techniques. Contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
· Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of designs to ensure accuracy and adherence to industry standards. Implement quality control measures to minimize errors and improve efficiency.
· Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Design Manager to support the overall objectives of the design team and the company.
Qualifications:
· Alpine Experience: Experience with the Alpine system is preferred but not required. Willingness to learn and adapt to new software is essential.
· Design Aptitude: Strong aptitude for design with the ability to quickly learn and apply company processes. Creativity and attention to detail are crucial.
· Assessment: Ability to pass a required skills assessment to demonstrate proficiency in relevant design skills.
· Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly articulate ideas and collaborate effectively with team members.
· Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy in handling numbers, measurements, and information. Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of design work.
· Time Management: Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects concurrently. Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.
· Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.
Pay will start at 40,000 per year but will increase based on experience.
