Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join our accounting team. This position is part of a succession plan, with the Payroll Coordinator training alongside the current Payroll Specialist, who is preparing for retirement. The ideal candidate will have payroll processing experience, along with a strong working knowledge of payroll systems, compliance regulations, and reporting functions. This role reports to the Controller while also taking guidance and direction from the Payroll Specialist.
As a critical access hospital, our payroll operations support employees across multiple shifts, requiring attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under deadlines. This is a full-time position with competitive wages and benefits, located on the beautiful Southern Oregon Coast.
Skills, Knowledge, & Experience Requirements :
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Two or more years of payroll processing experience required, preferably in a healthcare or multi-shift environment.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now or equivalent payroll software is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate lever or higher) - including formulas, data sorting, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax compliance, and benefits administration.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a drive to provide exceptional service.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication, and computer proficiency specifically, in Microsoft Office and online software.
This is a Full-Time onsite position that is eligible for benefits.
Employment with Southern Coos Hospital is contingent upon an acceptable pre-employment drug screening and background check.
