Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with all coding guidelines and regulations while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures when necessary to ensure accurate coding.
- Process medical billing and collections efficiently, addressing any discrepancies or issues that arise.
- Stay updated on changes in medical terminology, coding practices, and billing regulations to maintain expertise in the field.
- Assist in training new staff members on coding practices and procedures as needed.
- Generate reports on coding accuracy and productivity metrics for management review.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical coding systems including ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and concepts related to healthcare documentation.
- Experience with medical billing processes, including collections and insurance claims processing.
