Job Summary
The Food Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food service department, ensuring that all food preparation and service meets high standards of quality and safety. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage kitchen staff, coordinate food production, and maintain a positive dining experience for all students. The ideal candidate will be serv safe certified and have an understanding of the National School Lunch Program requirements and standardized recipes.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of food service operations, including kitchen management, food preparation, production, and accurate record keeping
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure adherence to recipes, portion control, and presentation standards.
- Maintain inventory levels of food supplies and equipment; order supplies as needed.
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations in accordance with local health codes.
- Develop menus that cater to diverse dietary needs and meet NSLP requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in school food service management.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and NSLP regulations.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Familiarity with dietary restrictions and nutrition guidelines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality service standards.
