Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join Dr. Sidney Chadwick and our Lexington team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality oral healthcare and ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include performing dental cleanings, offering preventive care, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices.
Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. Our office clinical hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Currently, we have one full-time Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) on our team, and we are excited to expand our hygiene services. We are seeking a part-time hygienist for one to two days a week or as needed, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to the growth of our practice and team.
Responsibilities: As a Dental Hygienist, you will have the following key responsibilities:
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and root planing.
- Conduct patient assessments for oral health conditions.
- Take and develop dental x-rays and other medical imaging as necessary.
- Perform iTero/Wellness scans alternating with dental imaging as needed.
- Administer local anesthesia (as supported by licensure).
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized home care recommendations.
- Assist the dentist during procedures and maintain accurate patient records.
- Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
Requirements:
Skills and Knowledge:
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry.
- Proficiency in using Dentrix/Dexis software for dental imaging.
- Excellent understanding of infection control protocols.
- Familiarity with coding for dental procedures.
Experience and Technical Proficiency:
- Holds a valid Dental Hygienist license in North Carolina.
- Experience working in a dental office setting.
- Ability to perform patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Proficiency in Dentrix or similar dental practice management software.
