Position: River Purchasing Specialist I
Location: Memphis, TN
The Position Responsibility
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the River Purchasing Specialist I is responsible for coordinating the activities and operations of the warehouse.
Purchasing Specialist Responsibilities:
- Gather supply orders from vessels via email.
- Order supplies through various vendors
- Distribute shopping lists for drivers
- Maintain stock and distribute paint and supplies for vessels
- Arrange hotshot transportation for various locations and on an as needed basis
- Maintain vessel skill motor information to keep track of which vessel they are on
- Gather and organize supplies by vessel that arrive by vendor, mail or UPS
- Communicate with Devall Diesel Services pertain to vessel filter orders
- Receive and organize filters by vessel for crew change
- Arrange hotshot transportation for various locations and on an as needed basis
- Assist crewing with organizing crew personnel and supplies to their respective vehicle or vessel
- Keep track of back ordered supplies
- Gather filter and parts orders from vessels via email, text or phone call
- Forward orders to Devall Diesel Services for ordering
- Gather supply orders from vessels and order from vendors
- Once full transition is made, work to support new capabilities
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated computer skills: Expert with MS office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Sharepoint)
- Minimum 5 years marine industry
- Project Management Experience
- Inventory Management Experience
- Ability to access risk and make safe risk-based decisions
- Must hold Valid TWIC Card
- Must hold Valid Drivers License
