The Position Responsibilities:
The Shoreside Tankerman is the primary figure for loading and offloading barges. The Shore Tankerman will perform the duties of a tankerman to the best of their ability and within the requirements of local, state, and federal regulations. The Shoreside Tankerman will conduct themselves in a professional manner while performing their duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of loading and offloading barges.
- Required to be available to work 24 hours on-call schedule.
- Must be capable of lifting or moving objects (hoses, fittings, etc.) that may weigh more than 75 pounds.
- May be required to ascend/descend portable ladders and/or fixed stairs.
- Must have reading skills that enable one to understand operating manuals, emergency response procedures, U.S. Coast Guard regulations and other pertinent information.
- Must possess proper writing skills to complete logs, records, and timesheets in a clear and legible manner.
- Must wear safety equipment as required and ensure safe working conditions and good housekeeping of the vessel.
- Must have the ability to work outside in environmental conditions which can include extreme heat and cold.
- Must abide by facility, customer, and company policies and procedures.
- Must be familiar and abide by procedures, policies, regulations, and guidelines applicable not only to government regulations, but to customers as well.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to ascend/descend portable ladders and/or fixed stairs.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of Direct industry experience.
- Operational experience.
- Demonstrate computer skills: proficient with MS office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
- Good work ethics, positive attitude and team player
Skills Required:
- 3 years progressive experience as U.S. Coast Guard licensed tankerman.
- Possess a valid and current driver’s license.
- Ability to pass annual physicals, drug screens and fit tests.
- Hold a current certification as a USCG licensed tankerman (DL and/or LG- both is preferred).
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Ability to maintain successful working relationships.
