Job Summary
Southern Development Council, Inc. is looking for an SBA Credit Analyst to join our team. The SBA Credit Analyst will be responsible for evaluating, analyzing, underwriting, and documenting SBA 504 loan requests.
This is a full-time, in-office position with minimal work from home ability to be worked Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. Salary will be based on experience and range from $50,000 to $60,000.
Responsibilities
- Key Responsibilities:
- Under supervision, underwrite SBA guaranteed loan products, primarily 504 loans following SBA’s and SDC’s loan policy and procedures, SBA guidelines and general prudent lending practice.
- Review Credit Reports (personal and corporate) and analyze the account history and current payment trends.
- Spread and analyze Business financials including Tax Returns, Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and financial projections.
- Ability to complete a financial analysis based on trend analysis, industry-specific comparisons, and overall cash flow/repayment ability.
- Review personal financial statements and tax returns for financial analysis specifying in dependability on the business and ability to service one’s personal debt obligations.
- Have familiarity with third-party reports including appraisals and environmental reports.
- Prepare & review files for policy, regulatory, and documentation compliance, including equal credit, fair credit reporting, BSA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Prepare, review and submit SBA loan applications. (commission based).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate and project a professional image with others via writing, in-person, or over the phone.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred but not required.
- Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; basic computer skills, including the use of word processing, spreadsheet software applications, core banking process systems, e-mail and on-line banking programs.
- SBA 504 experience is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience in business lending or banking is required.
- Ability to retain broad knowledge of lending tasks, lending regulation, lien laws, and loan documentation.
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
