About This Role
The Financial Analyst at Southern Electric Corporation will support the Controller by analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. This role involves identifying financial trends, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insights to improve financial performance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail to drive informed business decisions.
What You'll Do
- Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to management
- Produce reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting
- Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organization
- Maintain knowledge and keep abreast of new policies
- Develop models that help with decision-making
- Develops strategies to achieve organizational goals and adapts strategy to changing conditions. Uses excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills along with a patient, positive attitude within a team environment.
- Support Division Controller with ad hoc reports
- Collaboration and Communication
- Respond to financial inquiries and provide relevant documentation and insights as needed.
- Maintain high organizational standards and attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis, or other related fields.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to input and review financial transactions with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate financial records.
- Ability to spot discrepancies and assist in basic account reconciliations.
- Problem-solving for simple accounting issues and errors.
- Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., Spectrum, SAP, Oracle) is a plus but not mandatory
- Understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
