JOB TITLE: Laboratory Technician I
Reports to: Lab Manager
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:· Perform analyses of laboratory samples using approved methodology within required work schedule working as a team with other laboratory personnel. Conduct all analyses within specifications of SET quality assurance program. Learn to use laboratory instrumentation as necessary. Maintain neat and safe work area.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:· Assist in non-routine analyses as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
New Hire
Employment requires completion of a minimum of two college-level chemistry courses with C grade or higher, or minimum two years experience in environmental or industrial testing with hands-on analytical responsibility and at least a high school diploma or G.E.D.
Current Employee
College degree not required, but college degree with some science and chemistry, including laboratories preferred and at least a high school diploma or G.E.D.
EXPERIENCE: Six months as Laboratory Trainee or experience as given above.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Basic knowledge of laboratory apparatus.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to work safely
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 12 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Weekends only
