Southern Foodservice Management Inc., a national contract food service provider, is seeking a high energy, detail-oriented Assistant Manager with a positive attitudeto join a professional kitchen team for our corporate dining facility located within the Blue Cross Blue Shield location at 17 Technology Circle, Columbia, SC 29203.
Our café serves freshly prepared food, serving breakfast and lunch, we also cater events from 10 up to 400 people. The schedule is full-time Monday-Friday, and the shift is 6:00am to 2:30pm. The salary range is $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year.
You should be committed to providing the best customer service and quality food for our guests. Have experience with large staff, coaching, and training. Other qualifications should include a culinary-related degree and food service management experience. Accountability is a must and experience in high volume food service operation preferred.
You will report directly to the Project Manager and assist in planning, organizing, production and directing quality service in all areas of the operation and the direct supervision of the hourly employees. This position requires you to complete daily, weekly and monthly administrative duties as required by the site and Southern Foodservice Management.
Responsibilities
- Manage catered events, reviewing orders, facilitating with chefs, set-up, breakdown and billing.
- Administrative duties, such as daily sales, catering charges, employee appraisal and customer feedback.
- Promote teaching and learning environment.
- Always ensure facilities and work areas are in clean and safe operating condition.
- Conduct all kitchen and dining room set up and closing procedures to ensure it is in operating order.
- Daily temperature documentation of all necessary equipment.
- Monitor team members to ensure proper uniform and that meal policy is being followed.
- Prepare all necessary kitchen equipment for daily use.
- Assist the kitchen or the front of the house team members throughout the service.
- Responsible for customer and employee relations and employee training and coaching.
Qualifications
- Background check and drug screen are required for employment.
- 3 years of customer service experience.
- 2 years of manager or assistant manager experience in a high-volume foodservice operation experience.
- Knowledge of food services, sanitation and safety standards are required.
- Must possess leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate employees.
- Driver's License required.
- Capability to work well in team environments.
- Experience preparing and cooking large quantities of food.
