Job Overview
The Warehouse Worker is a key role in Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, responsible for completing shipments by processing requests and supply orders. This position requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in receiving dock operations by loading or unloading shipments.
- Mechanically use a forklift, pallet jacks, or order-picker, ensuring safe operation at all times.
- Place and/or pull stock from storage areas of the warehouse, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Ensure trucks are properly secured before unloading begins.
- Pick cases from bulk locations to fill forward pick locations.
- Restock bottle and case returns from customer orders.
- Pick VIA orders for Salesmen and Customers.
- Store out-of-place product as directed by the supervisor.
- Sort pallets by size.
- Handle broken cases, re-boxing good bottles and disposing of broken ones.
- Leave equipment in good working order and free of trash for the next shift.
- Maintain the cleanliness of assigned warehouse areas.
- Perform duties in a safe manner, wearing all issued safety equipment.
- Report any damage to equipment or building to a supervisor immediately.
- Complete other related tasks as assigned.
Additional Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
Physical Demands
- Regularly walk, bend, reach, stand, squat, and stoop while performing job duties.
- Frequently lift/lower, push, carry, or pull items weighing up to 56lbs.
- May require working at heights of 8 feet or greater during peak periods.
