Position: Rod Buster
Location: Point Comfort, TX
Job description
We are seeking a skilled Rodbuster to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in masonry, concrete finishing, and related tasks. As a Rodbuster, you will play a crucial role in reinforcing concrete structures.
**Duties:**
- Ability to identify all tools required for tasks.
- Ability to identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
- Assemble and place steel bars or mesh in concrete forms to reinforce structures
- Use tools such as pliers, rebar cutters, and benders to cut, bend, and tie reinforcing bars
- Inspect and ensure proper placement of rebar according to blueprints and specifications
- Secure rebar with wire, clips, or welds
- Work closely with other construction professionals to ensure structural integrity
- Clean up/housekeeping of work areas.
Required Experience:
- Must have 4 years industrial construction experience working with concrete.
- Must be able to illustrate journeyman level knowledge on selecting, mixing, pouring, and finishing concrete.
- Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week and any additional overtime as needed.
- Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.
- Must have required tools.
- Qualifying candidates will receive per diem.
Required Skills:
- Employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, squat and sit for a length of time.
- May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
- Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull all objects, materials, controls, and tools.
- Will climb ladders and stairways and may occasionally work on platforms and/or scaffolds using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
