Job Summary
This position requires a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Provider to deliver vital mental health services to inmates within a county jail system.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of inmates' mental health needs, utilizing standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, focusing on stabilization, skill-building, and preparation for re-entry into the community.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including corrections staff, medical professionals, and probation officers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Facilitate referrals to internal programs and external community resources for ongoing support upon release.
- Stay current with best practices in correctional mental health and seek out opportunities for professional growth.
Requirements
- Master's Level: Master's degree in counseling or social work. Current licensure (LPC, MSW, etc.) and eligibility for certification in correctional mental health (preferred).
- Registered Nurse: Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing. Correctional health experience preferred, but not required.
