Location : Montgomery County Regional Jail Open Position : Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Social Worker or Psych RN Schedule : 8 hrs per week Onsite with Flexible Schedule Job Summary : We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Provider to deliver vital mental health services to inmates within a county jail system. The ideal candidate will possess either a master's degree in counseling or social work. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to positively impact individuals' lives during an important time. Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of inmates' mental health needs, utilizing standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, focusing on stabilization, skill-building, and preparation for re-entry into the community.
- Provide individual and group counseling services, addressing a range of issues such as substance abuse, trauma, anger management, and coping skills.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including corrections staff, medical professionals, and probation officers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Facilitate referrals to internal programs and external community resources for ongoing support upon release.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, sessions, and other relevant information.
- Stay current with best practices in correctional mental health and seek out opportunities for professional growth.
