Southern Hens operates three plants at its’ headquarters in Moselle, MS and employees 900 team members. Primary Duties:
- Perform and document monthly inspections of safety equipment.
- Refill First-Aid supply cabinets.
- Order safety supplies as needed.
- Perform and/or participate in safety trainings.
- Participate in Safety Committee Meetings.
- Perform weekly inspections of each plant.
- Assist in Accident Investigation.
- Maintain and file safety related paperwork.
- Support plant management in EHS matters.
- Assist with environmental inspections and compliance.
- Wear all required safety equipment.
- Ability to work in a diverse, fast paced environment
- Be available after hours in the event of an emergency.
- Helps train new employees.
- Helps to keep work area clean on a routine basis.
- Reports safety issues to the General Manager.
- Performs other functions as directed by the General Manager, as needed.
Educational Qualifications:
- Prefer 1 to 3 years' experience
- Previous experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety field
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- OSHA 30, a plus
- Process Safety Management Experience, a plus
- Poultry experience, a plus
- EMT experience, a plus
Essential Functions:
- Ability to speak, see, hear, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist, grasp, lift, and stand.
- Ability to lift, stack or carry materials in boxes, up to 15 to 30 pounds.
- Ability to work in humid, hot temperatures or extreme cold temperatures.
- Ability to work safely.
- Manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination.
