You will communicate with homeowners to provide solutions and options, interpret blueprints for accurate installations, and perform maintenance to prevent future problems. Adaptability and problem-solving skills are essential for handling diverse situations and evolving requirements.

The physical requirements of this job include tasks such as lifting weights (e.g., pounds regularly and occasionally), climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work. The role also involves working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, crawlspaces, and exposure to extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions such as rain or snow.

As a Licensed Service Plumber, you will diagnose and repair complex plumbing issues, install and connect systems and appliances, and ensure all work meets local codes and regulations. Adaptability and problem-solving skills are essential for handling diverse situations and evolving requirements.
In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For
- Perform residential service work, including troubleshooting and repairing plumbing systems such as leaks, clogs, and malfunctions.
- Install plumbing systems by assembling, positioning, and sealing valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
- Effectively communicate with homeowners, explaining plumbing issues and providing clear options for repair or replacement.
- Ensure all work adheres to local building codes and regulations.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan and execute installations accurately.
- Conduct routine maintenance to prevent future plumbing issues and ensure system efficiency.
- Adapt to various situations and environments, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial systems.
- Licensing: Active and valid Journeyman Plumbing License. Additional certifications such as backflow prevention, and gas piping are a plus. North Carolina License Plumber H3-I (Heating Group 3-Class I) or H3-II (Heating Group 3-Class II) required.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
- Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems.
- Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
- Experience with various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, and supervisors.
- Safety-Oriented: In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Customer Service: Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service, with a focus on professionalism and customer satisfaction.
- Technology Skills: Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work management software to track tasks and report on job progress.
- Leadership & Teamwork: Ability to lead apprentices, work well within a team, and coordinate with other trades on larger projects.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls, as needed.
- Driver’s License: 3-year valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
