Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Southern Illinois Healthcare. As a key member of our clinical laboratory, you will be responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens for diagnosis and treatment under the supervision of a Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and process patient specimens for laboratory analysis
- Register outpatients and receive specimens from outside customers as necessary
- Distribute laboratory reports according to current guidelines
- Properly identify and label all specimens according to hospital and laboratory policy
- Presents to patients and customers as a professional with respect to appearance and demeanor
- Maintain equipment and stocking of supplies
- Prepare specimens for send out to reference laboratory
Requirements:
A high school diploma is required for this position. Technical experience in specialized training is preferred. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
