Position Summary

Education
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Trade school preferred
Licenses and Certification
- Lead: EPA refrigeration certification of universal type
- Lead: Building Operations Certification
Experience and Skills
- Experience in building repair and proven mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to use technical manuals, reports, work tools of various trades.
- I: 1 year

Role Specific Responsibilities
- All – Reports adverse conditions or potential hazards per established procedures.
- All – Promotes and practices cost containment.
- All – Actively participates in emergency response.
- All – Attends training sessions and improves education level.
- All – Stays current on department activities and provided information.
- All – Assists Security staff as required.
- All – Complies with established SIH policies and procedures.
- I - Performs light maintenance duties such as replacing light bulbs, changing filters, removing toilet blockages, and hanging items.
- I: HH– Performs grounds maintenance as assigned. Includes trash pickup, weed control, entrances, parking, trees, bushes, and seasonal cleanup. Maintains grounds equipment.
- II - Performs light maintenance duties such as replacing light bulbs, changing filters, removing toilet blockages, and hanging items.
- II - Provides building coverage without supervision.
- II: SJMH – Performs grounds maintenance as assigned. Includes trash pickup, weed control, entrances, parking, trees, bushes, and seasonal cleanup. Maintains grounds equipment.
- III- Performs skilled maintenance, repairs, and inspection of the building, plant operations systems, access control, and departmental equipment.
- III - Utilizes computerized building automation and management systems.
- Lead - Trains staff on specialized equipment, medical gas system, chemical program, fire alarm system, and other building operation systems.
- Lead - Performs advanced maintenance, repairs, and inspection of the building, plant operations systems, access control, and departmental equipment.
- Lead - Coordinates work assignments for departmental staff.
- Lead - Provides technical support and guidance to other departmental staff for assigned work and regulatory codes and applicable agency requirements.
- Lead - Provides advanced multi-skilled maintenance services to all SIH entities assigned.
- Lead - Provides input on staff evaluations as requested.
