The School of Aviation in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking qualified applicants for one Assistant Instructor (for individuals holding a Bachelor’s degree) or Assistant Lecturer (for individuals holding a Master’s degree) position. Effective date of appointment is August 16, 2025. This is a nine-month, term, non-tenure track appointment. Application review will begin after March 28, 2025, with applications accepted until the position is filled. This position will support the baccalaureate degree in Aviation Technologies developed to prepare Aviation technicians with advance technical skills.

The target salary offer for this position is $33,750.00 to $56,088.00 annually at full time.
Examples of Duties
Teaching responsibilities will include instruction in the FAA-approved Part 147 Airframe and Powerplant curriculum; maintaining class records as required by SIU Carbondale and FAA; participation in program/department support activities; perform maintenance on laboratory equipment; other assignments as determined by School Director. To attend department meetings as required. To engage in other assignments as determined by the school director.
Qualifications
For Assistant Instructor an earned Bachelor’s degree by date of hire.
For Assistant Lecturer an earned Master’s degree by date of hire.
